Course Overview & Spiritual Importance

Why recitation with Tajweed is a sacred duty for every Muslim.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) stated: “Beautify the Quran with your voices, for a pleasant voice beautifies the Quran.” In Quranic science, Tajweed is the discipline of giving each Arabic letter its rightful sound, point of articulation (Makhraj), and inherent attributes (Sifaat).

Reciting without proper Tajweed can inadvertently alter the sacred meanings of Allah's divine words. Our Online Shia Tajweed Course connects you or your children directly with patient, knowledgeable Shia Quran teachers who listen attentively, identify subtle phonetic habits, and guide you step-by-step toward measured, melodious, and authentic Quranic recitation (Tarteel).

Comprehensive Course Curriculum

A progressive 6-stage roadmap structured for steady mastery.

1 Module 1: Makharij al-Huroof (Articulation Points)
Deep study of the 5 major articulation areas: The Throat (Halq), Tongue (Lisan), Lips (Shafatain), Nasal Cavity (Khaishoom), and Oral Cavity (Jawf).
2 Module 2: Ahkam Noon Sakinah & Tanween
The four essential rules:
  • Izhar (Clarity): Pronouncing clearly before throat letters.
  • Idgham (Merging): Merging with and without Ghunnah (nasalization).
  • Iqlab (Conversion): Converting Noon into Meem when followed by Baa.
  • Ikhfa (Hiding): Concealing the sound with a gentle nasal hum before 15 specific letters.
3 Module 3: Ahkam Meem Sakinah
The three rulings of static Meem: Ikhfa Shafawi (labial hiding before Baa), Idgham Shafawi (merging into another Meem), and Izhar Shafawi (clear pronunciation before all other letters).
4 Module 4: Ahkam al-Madd (Elongation Rules)
Natural elongation (Madd Asli / Tabee'i - 2 counts) and secondary elongations (Madd Wajib Muttasil, Madd Ja'iz Munfasil, Madd Lazim - 4 to 6 counts).
5 Module 5: Qalqalah, Tafkheem & Tarqeeq
The echoing bouncing sound on (ق, ط, ب, ج, د), and rules of heavy vs light letters (especially the letter Raa and the Lam of the Majestic Name of Allah).
6 Module 6: Rules of Waqf (Stopping & Pausing Signs)
Understanding Quranic punctuation marks (م, ط, ج, ز, ص, لا, قلى, صلى) to maintain grammatical and theological integrity without changing the divine meaning during recitation.
